November Workshop Empty November Workshop

Hi guys,

We're almost in November, I think it's time to present you the next workshop we'll organize with Nick on DMPCoach.
This month, we've decided to focus on a photorealistic set extension again. But this time, we're looking for an establishing shot. The 2D DMP is the base of DMP/ENV work, and it's very important you know how to do it properly. We may have the time to finish this shot as a 2.5D DMP, but it's not the primary goal.

Here is the brief of what we'd like you to do. Let's consider the client provided 4 stills of a view he found nice in Naples. He very likes them for the foreground, but would like to change the background to bring the scene somewhere else.

Here are the 4 stills he gave us :

First part of the brief is to stitch this 4 stills together, to create a wide panorama. It has to be invisible, you can use the technique you prefer to do it, but the Photomerge from Photoshop should be able to do the trick. At least, you could have a base and start to work from there.

Then, when the stitch is done, you'll have to transpose the scene somewhere else. The client doesn't want to see any sea in the BG. He'd prefer to have a big vista on mountains. Here is the reference he sent us. This photo has been taken in France in the Cevennes. You don't need to use this ref, it's just to give you an idea about what you need to put instead of the sea.

You should be able to grab HighRez pics for the stills here, but I'll put them on the Flickr Stream as well.
